Faraday Future’s 1,000-HP Electric Concept Supercar Is Video Game Crazy

Faraday Future’s first supercar prototype, the FFZERO1, looks like a Batmobile that’s traded it’s armor for style. Revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the company’s first foray into hypercars is a nice glimpse at their potential future tech.

One innovative feature in the FFZERO1 is Faraday’s Variable Platform Architecture (VPA). All future vehicles will use a variant of the electric VPA platform, which can host up to three electric motors, and both two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

The FFZERO1 uses four “quad core” electric motors that produce 1,000 horsepower, powering the concept from zero to 60 mph in under three seconds. And straight out of a sci-fi film, information is displayed on the windshield, giving the driver intel on the road ahead. The car is made almost completely of carbon-fiber, besides elements of the chassis and powertrain components.

The company has also recently announced plans to build a billion-dollar factory in Nevada; they have 750 employees and are backed by the founder of China’s version of Netflix. They’ve made it known they want to rival Tesla Motors, even threatening to poach the best minds from Elon Musk’s corporation.
