2016 Dodge Viper ACR mocks Corvette in Star Wars ad [VIDEO]
17:58If you weren’t a Star Wars fan or a Dodge lover, you might just become one after watching this video.
The spot was created around the newest movie in the saga, The Force Awakens, and it seems to make it clear that the Dodge Viper SRT should be recognized as a supercar. The ad shows the 2016 Viper ACR playing Darth Vader and being the leader of a Dodge army in one amazing March. Moreover, the track special’s number plate might be trolling Corvette as it reads “LKH457”, with 457 making a reference in the Star Wars language to the CR90 Corvette battleships.
Why is Viper trying so hard to make a point? The 2016 Dodge Viper is a car that has to be tried out before judging it. On the other hand, Corvette has been known as a supercar for so long, that no one even dares to say the opposite. Therefore the Corvette models with or without the Z06 trim have been doing great at sales while Dodge paused the Viper production because of poor sales. And then, the carmaker decided to introduce the Hellcat as its new flagship model. After becoming a bit more powerful and easier on the price eye, the ACR track came into the spotlight.
Now Dodge has decided to pay full attention to the Viper model once again, just last month announcing that the street-legal Viper won in 13 track records, beating, guess who, the Porsche 918 Spyder and the McLaren P1 Laguna Seca.
Welcome back, Viper, may the force be with you!
