Lamborghini sales driven to a record year by Huracan

The mighty Huracan propelled Lamborghini to set another sales record in its history, delivering over 3,000 supercars last year.

With 3,245 cars delivered to the “raging bull” enthusiasts, Lamborghini surpassed the 3,000-unit mark for the first time last year, hitting a new sales milestone. With a 135 dealership network serving 50 countries, worldwide sales increased from 2,530 to 3,245 units in 2015, representing a 28 percent growth compared to the previous year and 2.5 times more sales than in 2010. “With the introduction of several new models in 2015 and a solid order bank we are well prepared for the year 2016,” said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “We increased sales in all our major regions with new sales records in America and Asia Pacific,” continued Winkelmann. “Our biggest markets are the USA and Greater China. They are followed by Japan, UK, the Middle East and Germany, each of them registering considerable growth in 2015,” he concluded.

Lamborghini sales figures were boosted by the high demand for the ten-cylinder Huracan LP 610-4 model. In its first year of full production, 2,242 units of the Huracan were delivered, while in its first 18 months after the market debut the demand jumped 70 percent compared to its predecessor, the Gallardo, over the same period. By comparison, McLaren ended 2015 with a total of 1,654 cars delivered, also a record year for the company, planning to increase production to 4,000 cars annually as early as 2017. While Ferrari has not released the annual figures yet, sales are expected to exceed 7,200 vehicles, with a target of 7,700 cars for 2016.
