2016 Toyota Avalon Review
10:30It’s finally time for 2016 Toyota Avalon! Two years ago, Toyota refreshed their fully designed Avalon which consequently gave it a more sleeker, luxurious and sexier look. Along with the newly refreshed body, the auto company made the Avalon’s body slightly wider but shorter.
This resulted in improving passenger’s hip and shoulder room. Although being the 3rd best-selling full-size sedan last year (2014), the Japanese manufacturer unveiled a redesign version for next year’s model during the 2015 Chicago Auto Show.
From the Chicago Auto Show, we got to see the newly redesigned Avalon. However, I must say that I expected more than what Toyota did for the Avalon despite the changes in the interior and exterior as well.
The following review has been prepared for the sole purpose of entertaining its readers as well as giving in-depth analysis of what to expect from the new redesigned 2016 Toyota Avalon.
Keep reading this review to find more about release date, prices, available colors and to see some amazing photos of Avalon for the next year!
Exterior Design
The new 2016 Toyota Avalon will certainly come with redesigns that will improve retain and rope in more buyers due to the refreshments the auto motor company has been able to do. For the 2016 year model, buyers should expect some much needed revisions to its anterior and posterior fascia.
The big sedan now comes with a refreshed lower grille that is lower and wider than the previous version of the Avalon. The turn signals have also been redesigned in order to fit in the revised front fascia.
At the rear, the LED taillights have received a revision and the bumper now comes with a chrome accent. Moreover, the Touring trim version will feature a set of 18” wheels which will be painted dark grey.
Its LED headlights and taillights will sure accentuate its sporty nature. On the XLE Plus and XLE trims, the auto motor company overhauled the 17” wheels and have now added a new tire pressure monitoring system to them.
Despite the revisions being minor, the new exterior of the new 2016 Toyota Avalon seems a little sportier than the previous version.
2016 Toyota Avalon interior
On the inside of the new 2016 Toyota Avalon, it is no doubt that the Avalon has been one of the best in its class in terms of elegant features, so the auto motor company did not meddle too much in terms of modifications to kill its mojo according to the spy pictures we have.
Across the entire trim levels, the auto company gave the vehicle a grey interior colour with grey accent stitching. While on the XLE and XLE Plus variants, Toyota has now made an addition of standard premium woodgrain accents and a 7” Entune Audio Plus screen.
There is no much difference if you compare the 2016 Toyota Avalon and the previous Avalon but it’s not such a big deal considering the success that has been associated with the previous version.
Engine Specs and Info
There has been no mention of a powertrain change whatsoever and it is for that reason that we feel that the new 2016 Toyota Avalon will still retain its previous model’s engine. Below are the engines currently in use by the 2015 Toyota Avalon.
The first one is the 3.5L V6 engine that cranks out 268 hp and 248 pounds of torque. For certain it’s not that powerful, but it’s very adequate for this kind of sedan. This engine is mated to a six speed gear box transmission system, and my guess is that it will continue with the upcoming new 2016 Toyota Avalon. The drive system will be an RWD with an optional AWD.
The refreshed 2016 Toyota Avalon will make a debut with five trim levels which will include the XLE, XLE Plus, XLE premium, Limited and Touring. The XLE Plus will be the new addition to the already existing trim levels.
The new Avalon will also be made available with a gas electric hybrid drivetrain that will combine a 2.5L 4 cylinder engine with an electric motor which will recharge through the regenerative braking.
2016 Toyota Avalon Relaese Date and Price
When it comes to the price of the new 2016 Toyota Avalon, we shouldn’t expect a huge jump in price considering this is just a small refresh over the previous version of the Avalon. The current Avalon retails at about 32,285 USD and we might be comfortable with a slight increment of a few hundred bucks, but not more. Toyota Avalon should be released during the first half of 2016. Stay tuned!
