Watch out Everyone, even Oprah loves Tesla

Tesla is already riding a wave of positive buzz after a rave review for the Model S P85D from Consumer Reports, and now the EV maker might enjoy another jolt thanks to its newest potential customer – Oprah Winfrey. The former daytime talk show queen tweeted about test driving a white Model S on September 2 and posted photos on Instagram in the driver's seat. Elon Musk was apparently pleased with the publicity because he retweeted her message, as well.
Winfrey's endorsement has been known to give products a sales boost in the past, according to Fortune, and when on TV, she hosted shows giving away some of her favorite items. Although, by being partially out of the limelight any bump this time is likely to be temporary. Also, Winfrey's past with recommending autos is a bit shaky after the controversy when she gave away Pontiac G6s to her audience in 2004.
She's hardly the first celebrity to buy a Tesla, though. George Clooney was famously one of the brand's earliest customers. Although, he complained about his Roadster consistently leaving him by the side of the road and eventually auctioned the car for charity.
