12:16Specialty vehicle maker Artega only makes cars to order. It has introduced an all electric dual motor sports car called the Artega Scalo at the Frankfurt auto show, and plans to only build 12 of them. The Scalo is derived from the company’s Artega GT.
The car has a Voltabox electric motor for each rear wheel with a total output of 522 peak horsepower and 575 ft-lb of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and reaches an electronically limited maximum speed of 155 mph. The two electric are liquid cooled and permit torque vectoring for maximum performance. Each motor weighs only 66 lbs.
A 37 kWh battery permits 250 miles of range and can be recharged in less than an hour using a DC fast charger rated at 64 kW. Top speed is regulated to no more than 125 mph once the battery state of charge falls below 25%.
